This special technique is traditionally practiced by the Tangkhul Naga tribes of the Ukhrul district of Manipur, India.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe pottery has a rich black texture and is made by crushing weather rock \/ serpentinite and clay. Every piece is shaped by hand, then polished and etched by skilled artisans with the help of a bamboo blade. The pottery is removed from the kiln before the temperature falls and then covered with leaves known as chilon-na.
